Weather Alert for Child Care Providers - Important!
Dear Child Care Providers,
According to weather outlets there is a possibility of thunderstorms, some severe, throughout all of South Carolina today, but especially in the Midlands and Lowcountry areas. Please be alerted to the potential for heavy rains, gusty winds, hail, localized flooding, and possible tornado formations. Showers and thunderstorms will move into the area from the west by early this afternoon, lasting into the evening. Some storms may become severe, with damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and heavy rainfall will all be possible. The storms may move into the afternoon of Wednesday, April 6th bringing another round of showers and thunderstorms again Wednesday and Wednesday night. Strong damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and heavy rainfall will all be possible ahead of this cold front. The weather conditions could make it hazardous to travel, please use caution and travel only if absolutely necessary. We are asking you to listen to your local news outlets for updates regarding the weather and safety precautions. Also, it is important that you review your Emergency Preparedness Plan related to inclement weather and to check your Emergency/Disaster supplies so you will be prepared for this weather event.
