CACFP Resources for Feeding Infants
The current infant formula shortage is a big challenge to many early childcare providers. Did you know USDA Team Nutrition publication Feeding Infants in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) has information that can help childcare providers and parents during this challenging time?
The guide helps childcare providers understand the CACFP meal pattern requirements, and requirements for formulas. It includes best practices for feeding babies in a way that supports their growth and development. This guide can help childcare centers and family childcare homes, regardless of CACFP participation, to offer meals to infants in their care. To facilitate communication between parents and childcare providers parent handouts and conversation starters are included in each chapter.
